Why I Lost

Privacy policy

In effect from 17 October 2026.

Why I Lost is a game for iPhone. It collects no data about you: no name, no email address, no location, and nothing about how you play. It has no account, no tracking, no analytics and no ads.

What stays on your iPhone

Your run, your settings (language, theme, haptics) and which tips you have read are kept in the app's own files on your iPhone. They are not sent anywhere. Like any app's files, they are part of your iPhone's own backups. Deleting the app deletes them.

Purchases

The full game is an in-app purchase made through Apple. Apple handles the payment and your Apple Account. The developer never sees your card or any other payment detail, only the sales totals Apple reports. To check your purchase, the game asks the App Store on your iPhone, and that is the only connection the game makes.

Crash reports

If you allow it in your iPhone's settings (Privacy & Security, then Analytics & Improvements, then Share With App Developers), Apple may share crash reports and anonymous usage figures with the developer. The game itself sends nothing.

This website

whyilost.app is a set of plain pages hosted by GitHub Pages. It sets no cookies and runs no scripts. GitHub keeps visitors' IP addresses in its server logs for security: see GitHub's privacy statement. whyilost.com forwards to this site through Cloudflare, which handles that request the same way: see Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Writing to support

Mail sent to support@whyilost.app is forwarded by Cloudflare Email Routing to the developer's own mailbox. The developer sees your address and your message and uses them only to answer you. Ask, and the conversation is deleted.

Children

The game collects nothing from anyone, children included.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version is posted on this page with a new date.
